Title: Green Shoots

It can\'t all be doom & gloom.

(1)In the next five months, there is the Triple Crown traveling circus (the
actual Triple Crown races have become so chaotic that what I am really looking
forward to is quality racing on the undercards), Spring Keeneland and the
opening of Saratoga.

(2)Very good racing at Fair Grounds and Gulfstream on Saturday.

(3) HBOs \"Luck\" is hitting its stride. The article from SI.com which Moosepalm
linked is spot on. This quote from that article is in response to those who
have said that \"Luck\" is too dark:

\"There is usually just the faintest nod to the dark underbelly of the racing
world when in reality the prevailing emotion at any racetrack on any day is
desperation. Owners and trainers are desperate to win at any cost, jockeys
are desperate to defeat their own bodies, bettors are desperate to cash in
and the entire industry is desperate to survive, when its golden age was
  eight decades ago\"

So, other than that, how did you enjoy the play, Mr. Lincoln?

Or the old line:

\"They\'re right when they say you\'re stupid, lazy, dishonest, ugly and your feet smell\".

\"Who said I was ugly?\"
