Title: Uncoupled Entries
Post by: Rick B. on January 29, 2012, 07:33:49 AM
I know the rules have changed for the \"big\" races (BC, Triple Crown, etc.) regarding multiple entries from the same trainers & owners, but I didn\'t think it extended to everyday, garden variety races.

In the 8th today (Sunday 1/29) at Santa Anita, #4 Elle Special and #8 Dontbeshy I\'ll Buy have the same trainer (Eric Reed) and owner (Jerry Jamgotchian).

Is this legal? Since when? Just California, or everywhere?

I see the \"same trainer, different owner\" uncoupled entry all the time...but I thought common ownership of two or more = coupled entry.

Thanks. I admit I am too lazy to go digging around in various state\'s racing board web sites.

This happened yesterday at SA with \'diamond a racing\' at Santa Anita. I think they must have changed the rules in the last little while, i never noticed this same owner stuff in overnight races until recently
