Title: Ho Hum (Yawn)
Post by: TGJB on January 10, 2012, 01:24:18 PM
Another TG guy wins a major handicapping title.

Congratulations, Paul.

By the way, from a quick scan, we have more guys who qualified for the big dance in Vegas than any time before-- might be around 50. We\'ll be sending out an email on this soon for qualifiers who want sheets.

That is a pretty big purse and a lot of participants. Seems to be growing, like Poker, but with probably a lot fewer dirt bags since there is little Online Competition and International mix.

Good Luck to Paul and all the others

Contest has some real issues, ridiculous format, cap etc. The biggest issue being there are several syndicates partnering to take down the big pot. They use multiple entries to get more chances to qualify.Lotta beards, wife, daughter, son, mother et al. At the Saratoga contest there was one syndicate of seven sitting right next to me,they did not win.Hear most of the multiple entry syndicates are mainly using the online contests to try to qualify. An IP address check could make multiple entries more difficult and limiting everyone to ONE entry is now necessary.

With the money getting serious, it\'s a matter of time before one group takes the money at the final.Do not think they have succeeded yet and really nothing illegal about what they are doing.Still a basic stab-fest,so luck will usually prevail.

Naturally, another oblivious \"racing\" organization mainly running the contest, NTRA.

Good luck to all!

I think the NHC is in major trouble. Transparentsy issues, bad format, excessive fees and expenses and other problems will result in major decline in membership this year.

Yes. We\'re going to be sending out an email in a few days about it. Last I heard Spillane will be out there.

Spillane will be in Las Vegas for the NHC in late January. We\'re undecided about supplying data for the HPWS.
