Title: BC HORSES TO WATCH
Post by: gteasy on November 11, 2011, 07:21:17 PM
JUV SPRINT    Secret Circle, one of the few to prevail despite fast pace, might
benefit from generous spacing in next.

F&M SPRINT    Turbulent Descent, pinched out of the gate, rushed up, checked
on the backstretch, moved early and can come right back.
Pomeroys Pistol, good account considering bias.

JUV FILLIES   Say a Novena, up against conditions here, has great pattern.

F&M TURF      Distorted Legacy ran crazy wide, has moved to new level.

MARATHON      Pleasant Prince ran well in wrong spot.
Cease has put together very strong numbers on short spacing, should
              be tough after a vacation.

JUV TURF      Lucky Chappy might get into the race sooner, blinks on for Team
              Valor?
Daddy Nose Best is moving forward nicely off an unusually
              low-stress pattern for Asmussen.

SPRINT        Jackson Bend ran well in wrong spot.

TURF SPRINT   Caracortado, like Jackson, will thrive at 7F\'s to a mile.

DIRT MILE     Shackleford, all in to win Preakness, should be a super 4YO...brave
              second here.

TURF          Brilliant Speed showed stamina on two surfaces and battled the
              Euro\'s at their game.

JUVENILE      Hansen, off a sensational pair, wired field when most collapsed
on the lead, should be reserved for Triple Crown run.
Dullahan progressing off sensible beginnings, could return soon.

MILE          Compliance Officer one of the few to show well with short spacing
off a stressful top...toss this race and wait for freshening.

CLASSIC       Ruler on Ice, off a significant dirt top. performed admirably.
So You Think, tough international cookie, tried dirt for fun.

I will add the Canadian Filly Mike Smith rode in the Juvy Filly Turf. Was very very very wide through-out, made a good move around the turn, loomed boldly and then flattened in the last 1/6th while wheeling back on a short three weeks rest.

Should be tough next year.

Will Flat Out run in the Clark to try to secure HOTY? How about bringing back
Drosslemeyer in the Clark (he\'s 2/2 at CD)? Would he be HOTY with a Clark win?

Would love to see Caleb\"s Posse in the Cigar Mile; a victory might result in
CP being named top Sprinter and top 3YO.

Without any further 2011 activity from the usual suspects, might have to agree
with Sekrah that Rapid Reflux should get some consideration as HOTY.
