Judging from the lack of post mortems here, I am guessing not too many of us did very well at the BC.
I came this close to entering the BC Handicapping Contest, only to back out at the last minute because it mainly stressed vertical bets. I would have a problem picking a tri if you spotted me the first two horses and banned me from hitting the ALL button for the third.
So I only had two horses I loved (which you can read about in earlier posts)....Royal Delta and Caleb\'s Posse. I did no good going horizontal with them, except for the Classic Double...hooking the filly with 5 horses including all Motts.
They should subtitle this year\'s Classic \"Drubbed by a Schlub\" except for the fact the winner was outworking all of the superhorses-du jour prior to the race. (superhorse filly HdG and previous superhorse Uncle Mo were stinking up the mornings according to some observers) And if you read Mott\'s description of the winner\'s season, you might start to think this horse was a really good one under cover for most of his career.
Of course, that\'s all hindsight. I would love to know what kind of TG number he gets...wide most of the way...it can\'t be too bad. By winning he covered 70% of my losses. Thank you Mr. Nutcracker.
All in all, it was fun.
not for nothing but I thought jb\'s analysis was pretty good for the two days. box the 4 horses he gave in the 6th and hit 900 tri! 24 cold ex in 8th and it\'s tricky came in 2nd. then sat he really picks up. he warned about the first time lasix euros and wrote won and the other was third. regally ready won easy. calebs posse won for you if you weren\'t sucked in by trappe shots big numbers (like moi) then he gets the pick 3 and the tri with the st.nick horse then hansen then court vision was given a positive review capping a 10,000 pick three. oh crap, this was better than I thought and I am getting sick. because all I managed to do was hit the 900. good job tgjb.
