Title: A double DQ...seriously
Post by: Themig on October 09, 2011, 02:33:52 PM
I have never seen such a BS call in racing. BOTH horses come down in the 9th at Bel ?????????? Over 30 plus years and with the exception of screw-up in Saratoga a few years back,(taking the wrong horse down)...this one takes the cake.

At first blush it looked very bogus, but the 1 was easy, and the 2 did actually drift badly AFTER the initial squeeze.  You need to watch the head on two or three times.

As ugly as it was, they didn\'t have much choice. You cant take a horse path away, simple as that.

Had the 3 horse finished third, instead of 4th, there would have been no change.

The stewards ruled that both the 1 and 2 horses equally contributed to the 3 horse finishing 4th, instead of 3rd,losing a better placing. The actual fouls would have been declared insufficient to change the order of finish had the 3 finished 3rd instead of 4th.

The 3 was going be 3rd without the incidents,no better.
