Call me crazy, but I love Tajaaweed here. I\'m not buying that figure in his last race. The Pace was slow and he rallied well off it. This horse ran 1\'s last spring but now can\'t get back to them? Not buying it.
He runs a 1 here, gets a dream trip, and scoops it up at a price.
what effect did yielding turf have on results here?
They had better start running Gio out West if they want to get way from soft turf.
2nd and 3rd string Euros dominating American garbage turfers despite ship, quarantine in many cases.
While that might have been the case in years past, it was hardly 2nd and 3rd stringers this year.
Treasure Beach is a top notch 3 year old over there.Beyond Frankel he is among the horses next in line.He has a Group 3 win ,a Group 1 win ,and missed by a head to Pour Moi or he would have won 2 Group 1 derbies.
Stacelita has won quite a few Group 1\'s while being competitive against the best like Dar Re Mi,Snow Fairy and Midday.
Cape Blanco has a Group 3 win,two Group 2 wins ,and two Group 1 wins and fell 1 length short of winning the Dubai World Cup.
What was also interesting was a couple of these were stalk and pounce trips! Not the typical explosive late foot we are used to seeing....just good tactical positioning and then punching home!
Yes, but Stacelita ran that way in Europe. She even had set the pace before in Europe. Cape Blanco also could stalk. And with the paces being moderate, it was easy for them to run their races. Ziyarid ran a strong race, especially since he did not use Lasix. A nice improving Aga Khan horse. Rumor has it Ziyarid was for sale while he was here. Does anybody know if that was true? Rare for an Aga Khan I would think.
