Title: Saratoga Seating
Post by: P-Dub on August 07, 2011, 01:05:47 PM
My cousin is back in NY visiting family.  6 of them will be attending the races tomorrow, Monday 8/8.

They don\'t have seats yet, any suggestions on where they can get seats, or a good spot to hang out for the afternoon. Thanks for the advice.

On a Monday? Walk up to the reserved seats booth and order away! Or scalp, but pay less than face value....

Mondays are SOFT especially if the weather is anything less than ideal.   First day of the main sale may make it tougher, but if so, only marginally . . . you should have no trouble.

Others may be luckier than me but personally I think it is just best to plan on paying face value. Scalper is really a misnomer for the ticket exchange that occurs just outside the grandstand gate on Union Avenue. I\'ve never paid less than face value but, then again, I\'ve never paid over either.

P-Dub,

Tell them to try craigslist albany, tickets by owner, might find something below face value on a Monday, weather\'s iffy up here today. I\'ve had good luck w/craigslist, actually bought 2 clubhouse for Travers at face there over the weekend (my only \"score\" either day...had one of those couldn\'ta hit water if I fell out of a boat weekends).

If they\'re right in town, unused clubhouse seats go on sale starting at 9:00 am at the Union Avenue box office.

I\'ve walked up and gotten clubhouse from the box office as late as 2:00 on slow weekedays.

Long story longer...they shouldn\'t have too hard of a time on a Monday.
