Title: Belmont Weds
Post by: alm on July 26, 2011, 08:12:08 PM
Assuming the races go on surfaces as planned:

Race 4: the Dutrow firster Rockport Lover...really interesting.
Race 8: Pletcher\'s Bellamy Star may be a good one.
Race 10: Linda Rice\'s other entry, Petey Cramer, could be special.

Your comments are just like those old timey ones they used to have on the Form\'s Handicapper page and in American Turf Monthly.  Good luck to you and Pittsburg Phil tomorrow at Belmont.  :-)

I\'m up early because Saratoga is 30 minutes from my house and Belmont is 3hours with lot\'s of traffic !!!

After 2 days of massive rainfall amounts in a short periods of time hopefully the turf courses will play a bit more fairly ? Both courses should be fine this afternoon, I just went out and walked on my lawn, its still hard as rock and fairly dry.

Beautiful Saratoga summer day, 81 degrees, low humidity and a little breeze too bad the race card is horrible !!! No interest here at all until the late pick 4.
The 7th and the 9th appear to have some value and Dominguez 50 % for Hushion in the 10th looks tough to go against.

If your looking for the ultimate in a trainer intent angle ? Check out Cole\'s Got Soul in the 9th, pretty sharp trainer and after all there NY breds !!! The 7 is a bit interesting as well with the 2 Rice horses and Pletcher taking all the money in that race.

Good luck,

Frank D.

Actually that\'s a very silly comment and snide too.  Take a look at the races and the horses.  You want a textbook explanation on why these are worth looking at?  There is a speed number analysis that makes each interesting WITHIN the context of their races.  Take a look.

Al,

Bellamy Star acquired after last race.Training fantastic, beating up some nice Tricky classy runners in the am.Hoping to be second to possible future star Winter Memories. Maybe the softish turf will help(or not),never raced or trained on it.Great line on TG, imo, hoping.

What happened to More Than Real who put in maybe the best performance of the day(awful wide trip) in the BC Juvie turf.

Good luck

Mike

I agree.  6/1 on Rockport Lover would be a fair price in a pretty bad feild.  That said . . . I got the horse right here . . .
