This is a claiming rule many circuits -- it used to be all -- have utilized to
protect their horse population and the entry box.

Will be interesting to see how CD responds. They might prevent any claimed runner
from physically leaving the grounds until the end of the meet. I do not know if
the absence of National leadership, which prevents the enforcement of uniform
claiming rules, makes this have more potential for mayhem or not.

But Bill Nader formerly of NYRA, currently in Hong Kong, stood up at Belmont and
spoke of full veterinary disclosure and transparency and this \"sounds good on
paper\" but I am wondering what effect this would have on claiming races as we
know them.

BTW, a comment to all who licked their wounds after a tough Triple Crown sequence
and said they were out of the game until Saratoga, and then posted a selection
or bet like a f-----g animal all week. You guys are my heroes and I mean that
with all reverence.

Message to Frank D. Exactly six weeks from now, I will be staggering around
Saratoga. Whether I will be muttering to myself remains to be seen.
