Title: 1.3 Million Carry to P6 Wednesday At Belmont
Post by: djr2000 on June 12, 2011, 05:30:12 AM
Tough P6 with 3 25-35K claiming races , 1 MSW , 1 ALW, and 1 Maiden Claiming.  Difficult to watch and bet after classy Saturday Races but of course I will give it a go Wednesday.  Good luck to those trying.  At least we should get fast and firm.

What i want know is if Covello is at Belmont at the gap watching the maiden 16k claimers coming off the track after their gallops and he\'s ready to report all the details to us asap.

Jim? ;-)

The first leg of this pick 6 is a quality field compared to all the other stuff. Seems like a wide open card. There\'s an 8-5 ML horse in the last race that\'s probably going to be a lot of people\'s single and there\'s a 9-5 ML in the first leg that will also get a lot of cash.

Seems like there might be some rain in the forecast, hopefully it won\'t decimate the races.

I haven\'t handicapped it yet but the races for the P6 have pretty full fields which is always a worry at NYRA.  With a little weather realted luck it should be a nice P6 card to handicap..Good Luck Everyone!!

5 of 6 scheduled for the turf, any guess on the conditions or do we need to wait until tomorrow? 67 entries doubt more than 50 will go. Average 3 stratches a race.

Looks like the rain has passed here next to Belmont.  It came down pretty hard for a little bit but has stopped.  If I had to guess I would say they would be a go on turf tomorrow but most likely soft conditions.. I looked at the first two legs of the P6 but can\'t find a confident play in either so I\'ll be looking to spread early and key up in the later legs.  If I can\'t do that I will certainly pass..

LC,  hope to get some input from you and others on today\'s pick 6 races.  Here are some of my thoughts:
race 4:  #2 Popplestone 15-1 M/L  First time gelding?  Fisher good off layoff, distance should be no problem and may like turf.
race 5:  #2 Grace should sit perfect trip behing the #1.
#4 Keep It A Secret liked good turf, is in right class, and Frank A. is
            best 2nd off layoff
race 6:  I liked everything about #9 Prince of Danger until I saw it was Litfin\'s best bet of the day.  Regardless, any first time Fawkes is a good bet, and if Howie Tesher can win with a horse first time out, he must be special.  Will use the #8 as well, good performance off the claim for Persaud.

Looking forward to others ideas.

The way I\'m going lately it would be a monumental achievement to pick 6 in a month.

Hope someone on this board cashes!!!

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Tough, tough sequence.

The only way I could play it is to single the Mott horse to start.  Has the very big figure two back, then caught a dead rail on heavy turf at Keenland.  If he runs back to the figure two back, he will be very tough to beat.

Then spread and hope to get lucky.....
