Title: Manhattan Handicap
Post by: jbelfior on June 10, 2011, 06:02:57 PM
Not a bad idea to look at Jerry\'s sheets here.

Pace to close into for ground saving, 115 pounds, second off the layoff Bold Hawk???

Good Luck,
Joe B

A 7 year old who missed 08 and 09?  Toner isn\'t great at 2nd time off the layoff either. Good luck with him.

I hear your point re: Toner; horse not too shabby second off the layoff.

Only one to beat (Gp) and rest look ordinary.  I\'ll try my luck at 12-1.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

A 2 will take it!

Gio Ponte giving 1 pt of weight to most of the field which brings him closer to a few of these. Which leaves you with Windward Islands, Al Khali, Viscount Nelson (yes off the weeks rest(?) and ship), Prince Will and even Straight Story with the bore out!

Windward Island might be worth a shot off the needed yielding turf conditioning in his last and up close trip.

Might even be worth a shot going 3-4 deep here in Pk 4 with the Fav OFF the ticket.

Thank you, I couldn\'t agree more.  Can\'t understand why more folks aren\'t looking at this race to cash. GP was short here last year after the Dubai trip and traffic will be a problem.  I can see an upset here and chalk winning the Belmont.

Silver,

Your reading my mind.
I\'m going to wait until tomorrow to post a pick 4 play due to weather. T-storms in the area tonight and 50 % chance tomorrow.
BUT:

Taking a stand against Gio, he ran second in this race last year after his desert trip and he\'s now 6.
Using:
Windward Islands
Al Khali
Viscount Nelson
Bim Bam
Straight Story

Will be using extra tickets on S S, Castellano/Goldberg 3 for 6, horse loves Belmont and a big fat 0 to run back to.

Guys GP ran several 1\'s and 2\'s last year. Including a 2 in this race.

A little longer in the tooth as both of you pointed out and with the xtra weight there are a few in here with a shot!! Also a couple of total bums to toss and modest pace to run into.

Woody Stephens has some flavor also. Arch Traveler on # power is strong but has two BO\'s in his recent resume and a 1 for 17 Jerkins. Little Drama is a little slow but improving!!

Can someone pls explain Vicount Nelson to me?  Everyone seems to be mentioning him but I\'m not sure I\'ve ever seen a more clear bounce scenario.  Do people think the 1st time lasix and soft turf will offset the one week turnaround and over-pond shipping in the same week off a fairly large new top?

Arch is a definite play against for me.
BOUNCE just like he did after his 1 at Gulf.

Justin Philip moving forward and a 2 over the track breaking his maiden last year.
Will use Bold Warrior & Little Drama as well.

Here\'s my take:  He ran a very good race at SAN last year finishing 2nd to Twice Over and earning a new top.  He appeared to be getting better towards the end of his season.  He now comes out this year and improves a bit with a new top 2nd off the layoff.  The ship to the States doesn\'t really bother me, it\'s the ship back after an effort that I think is far tougher on the horse.  I think the wheel back can be looked at both as a negative or a positive, some trainer are fantastic with that move (Tricky comes to mind).  The first lasix is a major positive to me, as is the weight.  He\'s very likely to pair that effort with a chance to improve again with the lasix. The only other horse who has a chance at a new top; in my opinion, would be Prince Will I Am.

You sure about that?  I didn\'t see him treated with Lasix during the BC.  MOH was but I don\'t believe VN was.

If that\'s your goal, then why not give them out for free?

If this site were mine I would ban you right NOW.  It\'s pretty shameless to post here that you offer twice the figures at the half the price.  Do yourself a favor.  If your figures are that good, then spend some money to promote them and protect the integrity of your business by not engaging in tactless marketing practices.  I will never look at your stuff simply because you have demonstrated extremely poor character, and I don\'t buy anything from assholes.
