Title: Jim Dandy Analysis
Post by: Silver Charm on August 04, 2003, 05:25:57 AM

\"All in all, Empire Maker will probably have to run a new top to win - which he certainly could do, but do you want to take the short price on it?

Great Job !!

Ditto with the Haskell?
In the Del Mar Analysis (Redboard), the play is Sky Mesa @ 3-1 or more, but in the Saratoga Analysis (Redboard) it is Peace Rules @ 3-1 or more! At least the exacta box was consistent and correct...

I did the analysis for that race and it was a typo. Should have been PR to win at 3-1 or more, which doesn\'t matter anyway since he went off 2-1, and I really didn\'t think he would go off higher. Main thing was the box, since this was basically a 2 horse race when you took into account weight and probable ground loss-- FC had only one race that could be competitive if you thought the other 2 would run their tops (very likely in both cases), there was a good chance FC wasn\'t going to run his top, and even if he did run it he might still run third after giving up a couple of lengths of ground. All in all a very good betting race, especially since we had it looking a lot different than Ragozin-- they actually had the McPeek horse significantly FASTER than SM (!), and PR with a much weaker line (see the comments on the Rag site). Both SM and the Jim Dandy winner came out of the same race, which we had much faster relative to the others than Ragozin did.
All of which makes the Travers a very interesting race. Level weights, Frankel is a big layoff trainer, Tagg is not. Hmmm...

It matters, if you were looking at the recommendation of Sky Mesa at 3-1. (Note: I wasn\'t. But someone might have been.)

Correct. What I meant was we wouldn\'t get credit for the win bet anyway.

Come on here now Silver Charm didn\'t you look at how Baily rode this horse he took back and had a strangle hold of Empire Maker
he could have won that race if but he did the same thing he did in the would this time it just cost them a WIN. Lets not kid are selves here Frankel is saving his best race for the Travers in 3 weeks

                           THANKS

From the TG analysis in the ROTW: \"and Bailey has a history of riding him like he's much the best (4w,4w in the
Derby, etc...), which could cst him a couple of lengths as well...\"

I thought of that comment as I watched Bailey\'s ride in this one.
