Any thoughts on this one? It looked to me like Baffert\'s horse pretty clearly moved into the next lane and bumped that other horse enough to miss a stride. No?
Forget about it. It\'s Chinatown.
I agree with you. That slight bump might have cost him the race. probably should have come down
I wonder what the rationale for no action is? The stewards went to the trouble to call the inquiry immediately. The jockey followed up with a claim of foul. The head on clearly shows the inside horse moved over one lane into the outside horse\'s lane and bumped the outside horse strongly enough that the outside horse\'s rear was thrust into the next lane over and his stride was thrown off and the finish ended up being a short neck. What did the stewards think they would see when they lit the inquiry sign? You would think, if the stewards thought it was suspicious enough to call for an inquiry, that they would give an explanation for the lack of action.
Lost Cause....that Pezua ride was very strange. Don\'t know what to make of it, but the head on was very interesting....you see all the jockeys vigorously pumping and whipping all the horses and he is just sitting there stone cold not asking for anything. Very strange.
Would have been a weak DQ. They made the right call imho.
I did not agree with the DQ of St. Trinians at Hollywood. Cost my friend a bunch of money. She was much the best, and the horse she bumped (finished 4th?) was going NOWHERE.
All I can say is I had the winner, was sure I was coming down until I saw Baffert talk to someone on the track and then tell his crowd to go in for the picture...long before they made the decision...in other words, someone told him not to worry. The Pimlico class act.
I thought the horse was coming down until I remembered it was Baffert vs. Damon Dilodovico in a graded race.
Ill Bred, the 4 horse (the one going nowhere) was going to be 3rd, she had to take up and the 6 went past her at the end. She had the 6 beaten and then the interference cost her a placing.
