Title: Leroidesanimaux -- TGI -- Question
Post by: SoCalMan2 on May 20, 2011, 08:55:27 PM
The spread between this sire\'s Turf TGI (12) and Dirt TGI (19) going into the Derby was one of the largest spreads I have ever seen (maybe I am wrong,.am open to being corrected).  I notice now, two weeks after the Derby, that his Dirt TGI of 19 has not budged one iota.  Wouldn\'t Animal Kingdom\'s fig be enough to budge that 19 down to at least an 18?

The dirt TGI going into the Derby was 19.25, based on top performances by 42 horses. As you cite, the TGI going into the Preakness is 19 based on 44 horses. So the TGI did move. Remember his performance is equally weighted with tops from the other 43 horses.

Thanks!  Just out of curiosity, for those of you who know TGIs, the 19/12 Dirt/Turf relationship for Leroidesanimaux is pretty extreme, no?

Yes, very extreme.
