This one isn\'t running folks. Take that to the bank.
Quote\"I can\'t tell you (Tuesday) at 8:45 in the morning that Uncle Mo is at his best,\" Repole said. \"I can tell you, confidently, that Stay Thirsty is at his best. If Uncle Mo is 100 percent, he would be 4-5 (odds in the Derby) and he would have won the Wood by seven lengths and we would be talking about the margin of victory (in the Derby).\"
What an ass. Sounds like he needs a few more years in the game. Hopefully it\'ll humble him.
If my grandmother had wheels, she would be a trolleycar.
The more that Repole opens his mouth, the less likeable he becomes. In a couple of months, he went from the funny and humbled owner who loved the fans and loved the game (eclipse awards speech), to a blowhard who\'s hard to root for.
He\'s reading the negative things said about Uncle Mo and he\'s taking it personally. We will know in a few days if Uncle Mo is the great horse Repole thinks he is, or he\'s just another fraud who melted when he faced better competition.
Is it possible to be a poor man\'s Ernie Paragallo?
Pretty much everyone who comes into this game goes through the same sequence of events-- they have been successful at something else, they think they know everything, especially if they have spent time on the backside. I\'ve dealt with a lot of these, dealing with some of that right now. Best time to get those guys as clients is after they\'ve been beat up a little, they listen better.
TTimes just reported that a decision will be made by 9:30 tomorrow.
Excerpt: Veterinarians are examining Uncle Mo because his appetite and energy have dwindled this week. Repole noted that Uncle Mo is completely sound and looks great on the track but there are concerns internally.
