I just heard a rumor, and only a rumor at this point, but from someone I trust, that Dialed In may have injured himself this morning. Anyone else hear that?
FWIW, I heard that he was not moving well this morning, but nothing more. I take that with a grain of salt, as rumors are always rife Derby week at CD. What gives it some additional credence is that Zito has trained him unlike any other Derby runner of his, and it does suggest there has been something off physically for some time.
So it\'s BS?
My guy said it may be true.
Nothing from Welsch or any of the other watchers.
Who told \"your guy\" ?
Ok,
Now someone else I just called said Bruno De Julio is reporting the same thing. What the hell??
This stinks. Not that I planned on using him, but I was counting on LeParoux to get jammed up behind a modest pace.
Hope the horse is okay.
I hear you. Half the time this type of stuff turns out to bogus. Can\'t tell you how many backstretch rumors are b.s. and who knows who starts them. Could be some drunk down on 4th street spouting some nonesense that someone picks up on and spreads. Who knows. I should know better than to post something like this. Guess we\'ll wait and see.
Just chatted with Bruno on Facebook-he did not see him gallop and they ARE ONLY RUMORS!
Welsch claims he galloped in his report this morning.
QuoteDialed In – jogged, galloped early at CD.
Fair enough. But I\'m hearing the horse is hurt. Don\'t know how bad.
Possible, but this may stem from the fact that DI has not been fluid over the wet CD track while jogging/galloping since arriving(compared to Florida)
Welsch has said that he\'s an awkward galloper, but he looked this way at Palm Meadows too all winter/spring and wasn\'t abnormal for him.
He said it looked like he was striding out a little better this morning.
This is pure speculation on my part, but I would not be shocked if Uncle Mo is withdrawn.
Pletcher schooled half his barn today with no Uncle Mo.
Some say Stay Thirsty outworked Mo this week and now this.
Somethins\' up.
Uncle Mo has looked light in the chest from the video I\'ve seen of him. He\'s an easy toss for me. I hope they don\'t pull him.
If both him and Dialed In get pulled, on top of Toby\'s Corner, that will put a major dent in alot of the value in this race.
Let\'s see how Dialed In looks tomorrow morning. Track was sloppy/sealed today. A very \"unique\" surface on days like this.
I agree with you about Dialed In & Uncle Mo but Toby\'s Corner? What kind of price did you expect him to be?
If you\'re Repole, you pull a Pegram and enter, so your other horse has 1 less horse to beat after you scratch.
Based on what I\'ve seen the bookmakers setting him at? 12-1 to 15-1. 5th choice possibly. 3 of the Top 5 choices in the Derby not making it to the gate? I\'d call that pretty rough.
I\'m going to disagree with you as far as Toby\'s Corner having a major impact on the odds.
As far as TC\'s impact on the race....let\'s just say, I\'m relieved he\'s not running.
Hopefully, DI & Uncle Mo stay there.
