Title: TGI Sire Synthetic
Post by: firmturf on April 18, 2011, 02:12:37 PM
Upon reviewing the past performances this weekend at KEE I notice a number of stallions having better TGI\'s for synthetic than both dirt or turf.

Is this because most of the top stallions are represented at KEE year after year where the racing is better so a better effort is required to even be considered to run on the surface?

An example is Dynaformer. Who would think that his syn is a point better than turf? Giants Causeway is another. Graeme Hall is a step lower (no disrespect intended) compared to those two but he matches the bill as well as sires like Aptitude and Unbridled\'s Song.

It\'s actually more complicated than that. Horses have been getting faster, and synthetics are a relatively recent development. Sires who have had many crops have runners from 8-10 years ago who ran on other surfaces, but synth runners from only last few years.
