Title: When will the mud slinging END????
Post by: SJU5 on June 12, 2003, 08:12:31 AM
I came to this site as a way to improve my handicapping skills and to learn about your product, not to read daily rants about who is doing what between both companies!!!

Let get this board back to what it should be about.....REMEMBER...this board says ASK THE EXPERTS...Thank you in advance!

You guys are right. I suspect the vast majority of lurkers/posters could give a rats patootie about the debate. I read them hoping to find something of value.............

The fact of the matter is: PEOPLE ARE MAKING MONEY USING BOTH PRODUCTS!!! Some days T-Graph will do better, others Rags, in between BOTH WILL SUCK!!! Put those horses you liked in a stable mail somewhere. That\'s just the nature of the beast. If you can\'t handicap a lick, no figs in the world will help......................

I hope to hell things will cool down now, with the Briar Patch (new Ragozin board) in effect, and Marc and Alydar gone from here. We\'ll see.

Hey TGJB:

Just a note of good customer service...how about a show of apology to your loyal customers who had to sit through all this personal garbage the past weeks...you have a good product...don\'t answer anymore personal attacks...let your product do the talking and keep this board for ASK the EXPERTS as advice towards great handicapping and horse playing angles!!

Thanks in advance again!!!

Title: Brier Patch.
Post by: Mall on June 12, 2003, 07:18:45 PM
Briar generally refers to a tobacco pipe made of brierroot, whereas what I\'m sure you\'re referring to is a brier patch, a growth of prickly or thorny bushes which most people know about from the tales involving Brer Rabbit,Brer Fox, & Tar Baby. The tales originally appeared in 1879 in the Atlanta Const. & a few yrs later were assembled in a book called \"Legends of the Old Plantation As Told By Uncle Remus.\" The tale in question consists of Brer Rabbit telling Brer Fox that he would rather be hanged, drowned, skinned alive, have his eyeballs & ears torn out, or even have his legs cut off, anything if only he could avoid being thrown in the brier patch. Of course Brer Fox falls for it, & in short order Brer Rabbit easily escapes and taunts: \"Bred en bawn in a brier-patch, Brer Fox---bred en bawn in a brier-patch!\" The lesson of the tale is timeless, when you think about it.

Glad to hear the same complaint from others.  I did the same a year ago,  much to no avail.

I simply lurk from time to time in hopes of seeing useful posts to help me improve my use of TG.  I would love to post my amateur attempts at handicapping races using TG but the abundance of negative posts just keeps me away.  It would be invaluable to have others opine to my analysis - no better way to learn in my opinion.

I love TG, but despise the pettiness.  Maybe two Boards can be set up - one strictly for handicapping...either current races about to happen or general questions about things like 0-2-X, etc.  And then another Board for non-handicapping topics - let the Rag/TG feud be held there.

These Boards are obviously monitored so having two Boards to direct incoming messages to doesn\'t seem like a problem.  A thought anyway...

back to lurking and hoping to continue to learn more about TG.
