Title: ROTW
Post by: TGJB on March 25, 2011, 11:28:21 AM
It will be the Rushaway from Turfway, in part because Friedman did the race I was going to do (FG Oaks) on the Ragozin board, and said pretty much what I was going to say. There are other reasons which will be apparent when we post the analysis.

On the other hand, if I had seen what Len did with the La Derby before I wrote up the Rushaway I would have done that race. Sounds like our sheets look a little different for a few horses in this one.

A perfect opportunity to match wits with your competition.

I think you\'re about 1 race short.  By that I mean look for Motion/Garcia to take the Spiral.  Which leads me to my upset horse in the Rushaway-#5 Ocasta.  They both came out of the same race, a race I expect to end up being a major key race.  Now looking at the numbers, it\'s easy to dismiss Ocasta and basically give the race to Jim Covello\'s horse, which if he wins I\'m sure all on the board will be happy for him, but I think the biggest threat to him is Ocasta. Aside from the potential key race, if you watch the replay, Johnny V tries to go through a hole and instead ends up a pinball.  He ran a new top that may have been faster without all that trouble.  That was his 1st race back as a 3yo and Miller has won this race before, a definite plus.  I expect improvement that is not evident on his sheet. The one thing the sheet does show is that he should be better on synth than turf & his trainer, as Jerry mentioned, is good at moving to synth.  Because of what I\'ve said about Miller, I have to fear Swagger Jack for the same reasons.

My plays will be exacta boxes with Ocasta & Swift Warrior on top & underneath each other as well as using those 2 with Swagger Jack & The Ole Glen, whose breeding suggests a move up on polytrack.  While the turf to synthetic angle might also work for China, I\'m just not sold on the race he ran at Gulfstream.  I\'ll be playing Swift Warrior & Ocasta in my major doubles with #4 Animal Kingdom in the Spiral, a race where TVG indicated the connections of one of the favorites, King Congie, are considering scratching him.

Crimson China pounded at Turfway. Probably drifts up to 7/5 based on the DD will pays.

Thanks.  I\'ve got to thank Jim Covello too for taking his horse to Turfway.  Even though I tried to beat him with a bomb, I played Swift Warrior as well and ended up hitting all 3 P3s that Swift Warrior was in.
