Title: Pool 2
Post by: ajkreider on March 09, 2011, 02:16:42 PM
Odds are out.

Pool 1/Pool 2 - DRF (http://www.drf.com/news/churchill-downs-kentucky-derby-oaks-future-wager-fields-set)

A more readable list:

Pool 2 - Downey (http://www.thedowneyprofile.com/Derby_Future_Wager)

Some interesting bits:

THAS        15-1 (as predicted by some on this board)
The Factor  10-1, which seems absurd
Sway Away   15-1, suggests wise guy horse
MMM         20-1, though Gourmet dinner, who beat both THAS and him is 30-1

Dialed In at 10-1 I\'d like to book.

I like Gourmet Dinner. Not too enthused about Trippi out of a Pentelicus mare however.

Mucho Macho Man is interesting.

If possible, would we be able to add in the following:

Flash Point - Tricky
Uncle Brent - flashy Oaklawn msw winner
Wilburn - sick pedigree, way behind, but...
J.J.\'s Lucky Train
Arch Traveler - 1st in gulf alw
Nacho Business - 2nd in that gulf alw
Positive Response - won Battaglia
Smoke it Right - won Mountain Valley, now to Ark d
Sensational Slam - TAP orig said Bayshore, now \"all big races open\"..owner i\'d say

Hopefully Uncle Mo and Brethren crushed their tomato cans.   THAS might climb to 20-1 before the end of the weekend.

Just looking at the horses they\'re offering 20-1 is asking a lot.

You\'d need one of those Santa Anita horses to run big Saturday-preferably Jaycito because it\'s Baffert.You\'d also need Dialed In to keep taking money in addition to the Pletchers winning easy.Thinking 15-1 more realistic and maybe a couple ticks higher at best.

Forgot about Sway Away.He\'s the one that could take a lot of play and go less than his line of 15-1.That would help.

Silver Medallion for some reason took some strong action today. He was 63-1 at the end of Saturday and closed at 31-1 today.

THAS ended up 14-1 without much help from the weekend events.

It\'s not the 100-1 that Covelj got in Vegas but I thought Machen at 68-1 was okay.Seems like the La Derby is coming up really weak for a million bucks and he gets in the dance if he finishes in the exacta there.Santiva and Rogue Romance are going to Keeneland.Looks like Mucho Macho, Wilkinson and some locals are the competition so far.Rider change can\'t hurt and he does have that # to circle back to.
