I guess I 'll throw some logs into the fire pit to start some debate on last year 2-year champion Uncle Mo...Yes, in the Breeder's Cup, Uncle Mo ran one tick faster than the 2 year old season CD race of Super Saver's 1:42.4 but the internal fractions of Uncle Mo were 3 ticks slower at the first call and 2 ticks slower at the 6f call...Super Saver ran a better energy expended race that fits the profiles of past Derby winners. Until we see how Uncle Mo races in the Timely Writer stakes, Soldat has improved dramatically from his two year racing form....Soldat's allowance win was impressive even though it was on a sloppy track...I eagerly await the Florida Derby to see if Soldat's allowance win wasn't slop-aided and to see the improvement of To Honor and Serve.....until then....
