Title: future wager:inclined towards lucky# 4

\"Statistics have indicated that a broodmare produces her best runner in her first three or four foals and that the quality of runner tends to tail off thereafter. This is not to say that an old mare can\'t produce a good runner, just that on average, the best runners out of a mare are usually her first three or four\".

\"Over a track that promoted front-runners all day, The Factor was hustled to the front by jockey Martin Garcia, who was following the instructions of trainer Bob Baffert\".

Indian Winter, the third choice on the morning line, was scratched midway through the card by Jerry Hollendorfer, his trainer and co-owner, who said he did not want to run Indian Winter over a track he thought was favoring speed.

"We're not going to chase the speed on this racetrack," Hollendorfer said

Given the condition of the surface opinions were towards speed as
the necessary factor for success. The outcome has swayed me to disagree.Currently

Lewis said Clubhouse Ride, a son of Candy Ride, has a hairline fracture of his right ankle that will require 45 days off.

\"It\'s miniscule and he will recover,\" Lewis said. \"That\'s the good news. The disappointment is I believe he is a true mile-and-a-quarter horse.\"

Hard to believe they had Clubhouse Ride in the Pool Feb 18th-20th since there were no published works since Jan 26th.He was hard raced as a two year old and Lewis was working him fast before and after the Sham over that strip so no surprise he\'s on the shelf.
