Title: Thanks Mr. Analysis Guy
Post by: Rick B. on January 16, 2011, 02:22:29 PM
Whoever did Gulfstream today (Alan, I suspect), a HUGE thanks for Marquet Madness in the 7th.

This kind of pattern is an ultra-tough read for me, and I get it wrong so often that I\'m convinced that I should just make my decision -- then immediately flip it.

Seeing Marquet Madness as the top choice was comforting; having it designated as a \"Best Bet\" cinched it as my selection in the online NHC qualifier today, where I finally made it past the first round.

Many thanks! And as drbilly will tell you, I pay off for hot picks with cold beers at Saratoga (sorry: transportation, lodging, and track admission not included).

Atta boy Rick, glad you didn\'t listen to me, but Barclay really liked Lady today.

Thanks, but all I did was copy someone else\'s work.

Sure would like to qualify for 2012 NTRA Final next Sat. and get it out of the way before they even have the 2011 final.

TG Analysis comes up with bombs like this all the time...was lucky to have one line up with an actual contest race for once.

I know. The problem with trainers liking their horse, I have found, is that they rarely know what is going on inside anyone else\'s barn.

A much more useful piece of information from the backside: \"We\'re no good today -- simply out for air\", in which case I say, oh please, be the favorite! That, I can work with.   ;)

You\'re welcome but one positive race result wasn\'t enough to qualify for the final next week. In other words you did a pretty good job on your own. So good luck in the final week.

As for the pattern the horse was mid-way back to his top after his first Florida effort, acclimated, and the timing was right for him to keep improving, about 3 months after the big effort. The question was whether that last was an effort since it was secondary top. But overall the pattern is positive--3 efforts (when going a route), a bounce on less than 3 weeks rest and then a left turn, a forward move 1st-time Florida with over a month\'s rest before this race. A speedster that won\'t lose much ground, and a good ML price, it just seemed the glass was half-full and in this case it was.

Once again, congratulations and good luck.

Allen,
What was the winners number for the race?  Thanks for explaining this.  Are there any more tutorials than on the website?  I follow the ROW, but something more published somewhere on analysis?

tgab and tgjb...like marlin, i\'m looking for more info on these patterns...jb made a great one a few months ago about pletcher 1st timers...homebreds are usually not ready first time out and big purchases as a yearling are usually good bets with todd...where can we go besides the tutorial....thanks...

a) If you can get to the seminars at Saratoga that\'s the best way to go, and we stick around all day to answer questions, and b) if you have questions about individual horses post them here and Alan or I will answer them. Caveats-- horses, not races, we\'re not going to pre-empt the analysis product, and I don\'t promise to do every one of these if it gets out of hand.

RULING CLASS was the best horse in the race.
