Title: Playing the odds at GP
Post by: drbillym on January 06, 2011, 10:07:20 AM
Last year at GP, I noticed that the first flash of odds on twinspires, with a small amount being wagered, often tipped some early on track money.  So yesterday I was able to watch the first two races during lunch break.  In the first race Dreamingof Lillian was 5-1 M/L and opened at 3/5, going off at 2-1.  Had the lead the final 1/4 but got nipped at the wire by less than an inch.  In race 2, Fly South was 12-1 M/L, opened at 3-1 and went off at 6-1.  Same result, lost by less than an inch.  In both races, they were the obvious ones being bet early-this doesn\'t apply to horses with a M/L less than 5-1.
I also studied early DD payoff possibilities.  I am going with Atomic Flea, #4 in the second today.
