Title: pattern advice
Post by: dannyboy135 on December 26, 2010, 05:53:17 AM
JB offers the following in his review of the Malibu

Thiskyhasnolimit (118) (12-1) – has a clear pattern of running well when
fresh or coming off non-efforts, and then bouncing. He's coming in off an
0-2-X (top, 2 points back, bad race), which is similar to the pattern that
yielded the big one at Pha, and he's had good time since his last. He's also
been in California long enough to acclimate, and shows an enormous 6F
work for Asmussen, who usually works them slow. Note that an off track
wouldn't hurt, either.

I see the 0 2 x but seems to me he ran huge in Pha and then reacted 2 points to that effort and is now ready to x????.  I do like that he has been given plenty of time.  Does some one care to elaborate?

Danny,

His last was the X(kinda) but in a salty Grade 1 field with older horses.Hardly believe his last was the result of any prior stress but rather the company he faced. As the ROTW writer mentioned his current cycle somewhat mirrors his pattern when he won at Parx running a top.

Also, works on the new SA surface have been off the charts fast so 1.11 ain\'t what it seems.Twirling Candy worked 1.10.4 and was only 3rd fastest a few days later.Good luck!

Mike
