Title: A question for Mr Brown
Post by: Footlick on November 10, 2010, 06:05:22 AM
This is off subject and there is no hurry for an answer but I was wondering if you ever made numbers for Zarkava?  She was such a dominant horse especially as a three year old.  Soumillon never uncocked his whip no matter how far out of it he was because he said when he was on Zarkava he never worried about the outcome.  On European weight systems, given the allowance for a three year old, Goldikova still has not been weighted as high.  I\'ve seen her figures, so I was wondering if maybe you noticed Zarkava\'s figures when you made them for some of the horses that came over here for the BC who she defeated.  Thanks for your time.

Zarkava ran a 1 3/4 to win the Arc, which is a very good figure for a 3yo grass filly. You can\'t use the European data (Timeform etc.) straight up to evaluate horses of dffrent ages (or even times of the year with younger horses), because they have the weight for age scale built in. To compare Zarkava\'s Arc with Goldikova\'s figures as a 4yo or older you would have to take off 8 pounds from Zarkava.
