Looks like the main track is really dead and slow.
Seemed like horses aren\'t getting over it all that well: Didn\'t look like speed or closers had much of a shot. Almost played like a bad synthetic track with mid-pack stalkers staggering home as the winner. I only saw a few races.
Turf looks pretty fair, no bad spots either, and not as fast or hard as they were saying in some articles.
Supposed to rain tonight and early tomorrow, so no doubt the track will change, but I\'m not sure how. By BC races tomorrow sunny and cool and sunny and cool for Saturday.
I have a friend on track and will try to get more info. Would appreciate any feedback/comments.
Seems like A lot of winners are coming from post 8 and beyond.Being wide doesn\'t seem to be as much of a detriment as it should.
The guy said on the TV broadcast the same thing. Said the rail wasn\'t so good.
Thanks.
Beware: Last time they held the BC at CD in 2006 the track was playing like that the day before the races (One day still back then), them they rattled off like 6 winners from the 1 post that day.....look at the track to see how much they scraped up off the surface. It was a speed ball highway except for the last race......
yeah especially if they get some rain/snow today. . .i know. gotta watch closely today
We should get a real good barometer of speed in the second and third races.
Baffert has Solar Rocket on the rail, speed-ball and first dirt try after 2 poly trips. Usually a big time top for BB and Bulldoggger in the third who will be driving the engine.
If it\'s a speed friendly surface that could make Malibu Prayer very dangerous in the Ladies Classic !!!
