I tried to hit the huge P6 at DelMar playing for $120. I just missed on the last due to a late scratch of the #2 and being placed on the favorite.. My actual replacement for the scratched horse would have been the winner which cashed for $35k. It is to bad that you cannot put an alternative number in case you are scratched so that you are not given the favorite if you do not want it. I still made $250 as consolation for 5/6 but to be so close hurts. Any comments? Any one hit it on the forum?

Both California and NY used to allow you to put alternates on your pick six ticket onto which your selection would go if one of your horses was scratched (if you are already playing the fav, you dont want it twice and if you are not playing the fav, you probably did that on purpose). Both states got rid of the capacity to put alternates on your ticket in the aftermath of the fix six scandal. It is a shame that the old practice has not been resurrected. If Steve Crist reads this website, maybe he can jog the powers that be about it.
