Title: Saratoga 2010 race quality
Post by: fasteddie on July 20, 2010, 11:49:21 AM
Being that NYRA has spent most of the year going to pieces, and seeing what the Monmouth meet did to Belmont, are we looking at a significant decline in racing this summer? It is bad enough they added the 4 days at the beginning, and have in effect destroyed the CCA oaks by now reducing it to 9F, on a track where if you outside the 4 hole going 9 panels, you have no shot! One a classic race at 12 FURLONGS, now, heaven forbid, we have 10F races for 3yo fillies, because we don\'t want to step on the Alabama\'s toes! Who knows, maybe we can extent the meet to 90 days, have the Belmont run at 10F, and just close Belmont now that Monmouth has figured out that LESS IS MORE!!

I have been going to the Spa since 1985, and now they have ruined my wednesday opening and moved my 2YO stakes to that 1st weekend, when I am not there. My weekdays now have NO STAKES, but at least the weekend is intact!
