Title: Breeding Experts?
Post by: jbelfior on June 02, 2010, 07:25:34 PM
Out of respect for the proprietor I will not divulge the name of the 3yo colt whose \"pedigree doesn\'t scream out Belmont distance.\"

However, if I may ask, what part of the colt\'s pedigree are you referring to? How can the 3 or 4 prior generations that scream distance be ignored? If this colt loses the Belmont, it will not be because of his pedigree. It will be due to the fact that he is not fast enough which I believe IS your expertise.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Distorted Humor-- whom I know pretty well-- gets fast horses that sometimes stretch out, but don\'t prefer it. If my memory serves (which sometimes it cdoesn\'t) Moscow Ballet mostly gets grass sprinters.

Jerry:

Agreed as far as first generation is concerned. There\'s an impressive line going back on the female side. Even if that stamina comes into play, he has too many lengths to make up. Maybe down the road.

Good Luck,
Joe B.
