Title: Blackeyed Preakness Double
Post by: richiebee on May 13, 2010, 04:52:11 AM
I think there is huge value in this wager in that the Borel/Borel double will
likely be bet down to the low teens.

I will concede that SS, who some \"experts\" have already annointed as a Triple
Crown winner, might come out of one of the SLOWEST KENTUCKY DERBYS IN MEMORY to
repeat in the Preakness, but I believe that DWL\'s Tidal Pool, wheeling right back
out of the Kentucky Oaks 2 weeks ago, could be off the board.

TP has yet to win a stakes race, graded or otherwise, and has won at the
following distances: 4.5 furlongs, 6 furlongs, 1 mile. An \"F-Troop\" like retreat
possible in the final eighth mile?

This is classic D Wayne thinking that they can not run a high profile race
without him being there.

Both the class and arguably the fastest TG wise in this bunch, TP will not be on
any of my double tickets at ML of 8/5.

couldn\'t agree more, obviously NSW will take a bunch of $, but I like STT at the weight, inside trip, Kent and a nicely space out pattern, I think he\'s right there.

Tidal pool will be the outside speed getting weight while running against horses that are in most cases a lot slower than her.  Her last race was on a dead rail according to TG.  If she does not bounce big time she probably wins this..I don\'t like anyone else in the race so I\'ll have to find the shot in the double in the preaknness.

I like four in the preakness. Super Saver, Yawanna Twist, Looking at Lucky, Dublin..Pretty much in that order..Payouts will be too low with Super Saver so I\'ll probably go with Yawanna twist and hope Dutrow magic trumps the Yonaguska in the pedigree @30/1.

I\'ll look at the payouts with LAL and Dublin and see if it makes sense to protect with those two.
In the end that\'s my tri, super and everything else keys..

I will only use horses 2 thru 5 in the BES. I will go about four deep in Preakness without LAL or SS. I can tell you right now that the BES has several potential upset candidates in the post positions I mentioned above.

Acting Happy is fresh, fit, bred for the distance and has a hot top jockey and is 10-1 M/L with Tricky.  Cold DD with Lookin at Lucky.

Im in Diva Delite (imo expecting a monster race) with Jackson Bend for $200 straight .   $100 T Pool and Harissa with Jackson Bend.   $40 T Pool, Harissa and Diva with Dublin (saver wager just in case he gets the trip hes needed as of late).  Good Luck!

Some good idea\'s and nice posts by all imo .  guess you don\'t have to love those patterns on DD today or JB and a couple others in the Preakness tomorrow to believe that they could very well run big efforts none the less . Personally speaking , it\'s anyone\'s guess the way I see it , as to whether Tidal Pool comes over to the Belmont Stks if runs back from the dead rail number later this afternoon . ..

Like most I\'m playing TP to regress. I went with NSW, DD, and STT over Schoolyard Dreams.

I did use all the inside horses as I said above, but have 8 (not 4) in the Preakness and so only $6 double. Good that he was underbet  as my worst payout is about 4-1 and my best about 20-1.

I didn\'t use the faves or Cara and JB. Now I have some choices if I want to construct some tickets for p-4s or tris/supers.

Great pick my friend. Hope you have this one large!! LAL did look like a Point Given type coming in, and you found the value. Well done.

Thank you for the congrats. Don\'t we always wish we bet more?  But I\'ve got plenty of dough for the late DD at Belmont tomorrow-Barclay-Barclay I hope, mostly emphasizing Cat Be Nimble who has worked steadily, will like the grass, and can handle the distance.
