Title: Dublin
Post by: alm on May 12, 2010, 06:30:56 AM
I\'m not nearly as proficient using TG numbers as most on this board and never will be, but from what I see of Dublin\'s number in the Derby he ran just as well as anybody.  if he is given a better post than SS and can pair or move forward he is more likely to win the Preakness than any of the Derby horses, if I am reading this correctly.

As I said in another post, this smells of Horse Gods intervention...Gomez is in a great spot to rebound.

If his odds are any good, this could make for a very good score.

IMO Dublin is the classic sucker horse.  He just never gets there, always seems to find a way to get a wide trip and yet comes back with a decent enough number to look tempting in his next race.  To me he\'s a headcase and Lukas hasn\'t figured him out yet.  Sooner or later he will probably fire a big race and win one, but I don\'t think it is going to be in the Preakness.

If he were mine I would go back to 7F or 1M around 1 turn at Belmont with this guy to try to get him back on track.

Mike

I agree and to me off those 4 efforts, I think he\'s a bad bet short term, I am betting on an off race, off that line

Looking at the chart, after a strong middle move, he didn\'t really run a step after the 8F pole in the Derby, losing ground to all 6 horses that finished in front of him.
