Can someone please post Nick Zito\'s record in the Derby listing all of his starters. I don\'t beieve he has hit the board since 1994.
You are correct that he hasn\'t hit the board since 1994. Closest was in 1998 with Halory Hunter.
2009 - Nowhere to Hide (17th)
2008 - Anak Nakal (7th), Coal Cool Man (15th)
2007 - None
2006 - None
2005 - Bellamy Road (7th) Andromeda\'s Hero (8th), High Fly (10th), Noble Causeway (14th) Sun King (15th)
2004 - The Cliff\'s Edge (5th), Birdstone (8th)
2003 - None
2002 - None
2001 - A.P. Valentine (7th)
2000 - None
1999 - Stephen Got Even (14th), Adonis (17th)
1998 - Halory Hunter (4th)
1997 - Jack Flash (7th), Shammy Davis (12th)
1996 - Diligence (9th), Louis Quatorze (16th)
1995 - Suave Prospect (11th)
And I don\'t think this means you can automatically toss a Zito horse. Trainers who\'ve never won before win it all the time. It\'s all about the horse.
Only 1 trainer out of the past 7 Derby winners had a previous win (Nafzger)...
Wooley, Dutrow, Matz, Sherrifs, Servis, Tagg all first-time winners.
First of all, thanks for posting these stats. Exactly what I was looking for.
So,he\'s been off the board since 1994 eh? That\'s 16 years and a lotta dead money, a bookmakers dream - even with his 2 (fluke IMO) winners..........
I think it\'s TAP\'s turn.
I mean think about the drug testing issue. Super Saver set a stakes record at this very track where this drug testing will be going on. It may be a factor for the favorite, but I see it as a non issue with SS. Lots to like about SS especially the post time odds.
