Title: Easy Goer -Sunday Silence: Just The FACTS
Post by: Catalin on April 30, 2003, 01:57:24 PM
My most vivid memory of the EG -SS Belmont was the ad that Brad Thomas\' FACT Sheets ran in the DRF telling everyone why TG and Ragozin blew Easy Goer\'s Wood figure and how Sunday Silence would win the triple crown.  I\'m pretty sure their headline was \"Just The FACTS\".

My second most vivid memory from that race was that I attended my first TG seminar (on a Thursday night I think) right before the Belmont.  First time I had ever been exposed to sheets and patterns.  My memory is a little fuzzy but I think JB may have done that one.  TG picked Easy Goer to turn the tables on his West Coast rival.

Anyone have any recollection about these two things?

We certainly liked EG in the Belmont, but I\'ve only done one \"live\" seminar, and it wasn\'t that one.

When the facts sheet was running their ads we got into a pretty funny war of quotes. They ran one from Dostoevsky\'s \"Gambler\" about the intagibles involved in gambling, saying there was more to handicapping than figures.  I came back with an ad with Damon Runyon\'s \"The race is not always to the swift, but it\'s the right way to bet\".
