Title: Raw times for some of the preps
Post by: mjellish on April 14, 2010, 05:50:18 PM
Here are the raw times for a few of the runners in this year\'s derby from the preps.  First line is Horse\'s initials and race from, raw times for the horse without adjusting for ground loss.  2nd line are the extracted raw 1/4 times and final 1/8ths, along with Lucky\'s final 1/16th from the Rebel.  Might be helpful.

Was looking at the La Derby this morning in particular MI\'s last 1/8th.

You have DM\'s 4th quarter a second fast-should be 25.37.

Thanks for putting all of these up.

Now we are doing some  different kind of analyses ...We are not so obsessed with one final time figure or number but how the final time was obtained thru the internal fractions that were exerted.....This is the realm of the Sartin Methodology........

Now the winner will  be the  one who exerts the best sustained fraction (not exclusively the last fraction of  the race but a formula extracted from the last fraction in conjunction with the early fraction exerted in terms of energy expended)...But wait, someone will chime in ,this is a numbers board....The best results are obtained when the raw times are adjusted for track speed from some kind of variant, preferably half the track variant..( these were Sartin\'s theories)

Yep.  Typo.  Thanks for pointing this out so no one used the wrong number.

Thanks for posting those fractional times jellish.

Interesting...although it\'s largely leading me to what I already like -- the top three chalks (Esk, Lucky, and Candy) plus Endorsement.

MI and Stately Victor (not listed) underneath.

Maybe throw in American Lion too. His fractions in the Illinois Derby look slow, but I think it was a little better than the clock says.

Those are the six I\'d base my exotic play on right now.
