Not sure when this is coming out. I also think they may be changing the title to The Boys Club. Looks very cool though. Man, she was some rider. Absolutely fearless.

Earlier in a post, I said I couldn\'t ever remember a horse winning from post 13 in a route race at Santa Anita, and I stand corrected. Halfbridled won from post 14 in the 2003 BC as featured in the video clips here!

Arguably the greatest female professional athlete of all time...

Still remember her historic win aboard Colonial Affair, maybe the last Belmont
Stakes I attended.

Always hard to compare different eras and different sports, you know? But certainly she\'d be right up there. Yet, I believe she never liked the adjective \"female\" before any of her superlatives - either she was one of the best or she wasn\'t. I remember that one summer at Saratoga when she was neck and neck with Cordero for leading rider, right up until she got hurt. That was a really bad spill as I recall. Can\'t wait to see the film.

Great competitor. Loved her. Who was the jock she decked that time?

Apparently she decked quite a few. Knocked out Joe Bravo\'s teeth. There was another one she shoved off the scales when he was weighing in after the race.

If my memory serves me correctly.

and another jock, Filoberto Leon was the rider who dropped her, effectively finishing her career as she never really fully recovered from the injuries.

You are right!  Filberto Leon is who i had in mind!  Apologies to Julio Pezua who i am sure is an angel!

I don\'t think Krone was in any shape to shove Leon off the scales as she was in an ambulance on the way to hospital. But reliable sources in the jocks room told me way back then that this was a paid gig - $30K. After which Leon disappeared from racing.

......although there were many jocks who took issue with Pezua\'s rough riding tactics. He always seemed very quiet, very meek to me.

Rudy Rodriguez and Raul Rojas equivalents..

Speaking of Rudy..Has anyone noticed that he trains now and some of his horses have been running out of their skin lately..He was also the exercise jock for Rick Dutrow I believe..

The greatest ride I ever saw her give a horse was in some non-descript Belmont turf race...a couple of years before she hung it up.

She was neck and neck with another horse and her horse was all-out at the head of the lane.  She kept the whip in her left hand and reached her right hand forward and started stroking her mount\'s neck...all the way to the wire.  The horse responded and she won by a long nose.

This is a horsewoman.

Great story, AlM. Every so often I would play the \"first-time-Julie\" angle if the price was right. She seemed to have a feel for certain horses, and got them to run when other jocks couldn\'t. Not sure if that was a real angle, but it seemed to happen fairly often.

At one time, long ago , Pezua seemed to be on a lot of \'miracle\' performers.

I was always amused by the eccentric looking hand ride he\'d use in the stretch.

Hmmm. You sayin\' it was to order?

If so, would the reason be she wouldn\'t play ball?

I\'m sure that connection has absolutely positively nothing to do with the form reversals.

Oh Yeah...I picked up on this guy very early. It doesn\'t matter what the horse\'s numbers are just play it..
