Title: Too Fast Too Soon
Post by: Wrongly on March 24, 2010, 03:16:30 PM
What were the guidelines for \"too fast too soon\", was that just based on the figures earned as a 2-year old.  Couldn\'t seem to find it with a search of the forum.  Wondering if it applies to a big figure earned in February.  Went back through the derby history and was only able to find Smarty as a winner.

Horse that ran a Zero in Feb.:
2009 – Dunkirk 12th -
2008 – Eight Belles 2nd – 1 mile OP
2008 – Dennis of Cork 3rd – 1 mile OP –
2007 – Curlin – 3rd – maiden race GP 7F
2006 – Keyed Entry last – ran a negative 1 at 7 1/2F
2005 – Bellamy Road 7th – ran a 0 at GP 1 mile –
2005 – Sun King 15th – ran a 0 GP 1 mile
2004 – Readthefootnotes 7th – ran a 0 at 1 1/8 at GP
2002 – Came Home 6th, ran a 0 at Santa Anita for 7F

Interesting though that three of the last four hit the tri.
