Title: Back to Handicapping: Today's late Pick 4 at SA
Post by: Dana666 on March 14, 2010, 11:46:42 AM
Race 6:
I have studied this race and cannot come up with anything too confidently; if you have a strong opinion, go for it. I may well hit the \"all\' button or watch for clues in the paddock/post parade/tote.

Race 7:
This is probably a three or four horse race and that\'s spreading.
2-Bettingonthefly should win by all rights; he looks to be sitting on a good effort, I think, unless he shot his load in the last.
4-Saarface-is dropping way down off the long layoff with blinks added; you can make a case for him wiring this bunch; has decent works, too.
1-Chimu-not a huge fan of this guy, but I will say he ran against a tremendous inside speed bias in last, so maybe I should cut him some slack -perhaps the extra distance will help.
8-who u foolin-has decent works and if you\'re not high on the top three, he makes sense as a first time starter. I can\'t get excited about the rest.

Race 8:
This is a competitive overnight stakes race. Main contenders are as follows.
1-Manhattan Beach - I always liked this mare and she won as easy as can be in return - she did miss a workout (not sure why), but if there is any chance for closers on this turf course, I\'d give her a big shot.
2-Porto Marmy-got a nice stalking trip in last and will likely get similar trip here; Chantall fans will be screaming as usual, no reason to dismiss, usually fires.
9-Bella Roja-is doing well now, not sure she\'s this good, but she\'s in career form.
8-Czechers-always in the hunt, but seldom seems to get there; Bejarano takes over now. There are other speeds, but cutting back is often a good move down the hill so you might want to give her one more chance. Maybe she can wire these - speed\'s been super on this grass course for a long time now.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
one\'s I\'m tossing:
6-Annihilation-usually tries, but is a little too one-paced for me, and there is a question of the distance, too - prefers shorter trips???
3-Empressive Lady-another with some talent; not sure what happened the last 2??? The fact that she\'s running and Espinoza rides are positives however.
11-Emmy Darling-everything went her way in last, so I\'m not sure I can endorse her now-she\'s never won on grass either - does have some speed though.
10-Sweeter Still-always had talent, not sure what to do off the layoff? I guess I\'ll pass and hope she\'s not fully cranked up. Mullins usually slaughters me in such spots.
4-Theodora-giant mare goes off long layoff for Shirreffs who must be on cloud nine right now.
5-Dreamt and 7-Christmas ship seem safe to toss though 7-Christmas Ship has been facing much better, only 1-11 on grass, however.

Race 9
Pick-4 Single
9-My Friend Bernie-it all looks right for this Mitchell runner; he\'s come to hand now, and I was impressed with his last race.
1-Calfornia Colonel-slight sort drifted out badly and tried to hold in last; perhaps he needed that race - Mullins here - but I\'m not sold on this one really.
3-Ready for  change- regally bred sort drops now for Harty -I just have no idea what\'s coming really. Perhaps Harty can score with this million dollar baby in for a 32K tag?
8-Edenise-should enjoy extra distance, has a decent stride - so maybe he can close?
