Title: Exporting ThoroGraph Data
Post by: jim dennis on January 14, 2010, 09:08:04 AM
Hi Jerry,

First, kudos to you on your undying commitment to excellence and integrity in our industry, which continued in 2009.  Second, my sincere wishes for all the best in 2010.

Just a quick question regarding your data.  Have you given any thought to offering your sheet data for purchase, especially final figures, in a
comma-delimited format that would provide users the opportunity to export data into spreadsheets and/or handicapping software such as HTR?

Also, I was wondering, what ever became of TruLine?

Thanks in advance for your valuable time.

Most respectfully,
Jim

Good to hear from you, Jim, and thanks for the kind words.

We stopped offering Tru-line because of lack of interest, which is really not that surprising given how much work it required. People had to be seriously committed to trying to make a profit rather than playing recreationally to put themselves through that. We used a version of it for an ill-fated computer betting venture-- ill fated not because we lost, but because we got screwed by someone. As you know having done it yourself, handicapping that way is a LOT of work.

On the other, you might shoot an email to Paul, since he understands that stuff a lot better than I do, But in general, I\'ve resisted anything that lets people store our data and gives them the opportunity to repackage and resell it. Not that I think you would, I don\'t.
