Took a look at what was online about it. It\'s a collection of scholarly papers and studies, pretty technical and heavy, but more importantly, looks like all large population studies that won\'t help an individual bettors much (like, studies showing that AS A GROUP favorites tend to be underbet and extreme longshots overbet, based on ROI). Also, it\'s pretty clear that none of the writers were sophisticated handicappers, and they seem to neglect the differences with those that use sophisticated data.

The whole book is not available online, and they claim it\'s a cult classic used by big syndicates that people paid thousands of dollars or before this updated reprinting, so maybe there\'s something useful in the parts they don\'t show.
