Title: Some thoughts on Hollywood Today
Post by: Dana666 on November 28, 2009, 07:04:54 AM
So I got the T-G sheets yesterday, watched some replays today, and here are some of my ideas. Let\'s make some cash today! Any reflections/feedback from you experts would be appreciated!

Race One
Pass

Race Two
2-Stunning Ally: Canani's runner appears well spotted here; must just stay close enough early.
4-Gambling Pockerface: Run well enough to consider; seems like a two horse race.

Race Three
Pass

Race Four
4-Payment Approved: Terrific early speed, and the way the track has been playing, if he clears he's probably gone; single him in multi-race/exotics.
1-Uncle Greg: Bred to be a champion, but I'm going to pass and hope he needs a race or two.
6-Bridging: has the look of a grass horse to me; has been gelded.
5-Raymorrison: exits a very strong race back in April, but is a little on the one-paced side for a sprinter.
3-Brenthurst: a little guy who needs to show me much more before I can endorse.

Race Five
5-Marcello: I have long waited for this dude to run on grass, and today is the day. Gomez off isn't the biggest vote of confidence though! Tread lightly?
1-Bridgetown: Hard to fault his game try in the Breeder's Cup; he's handy and fast and certainly the one to beat.
2-Ace of Aces: Has a very nice turn of foot, and Mullins adds Lasix for his US debut. His last work was slow, but I don't think I want to count him out as he will be closing. I would rate his Irish race as being faster than the number the T-G guy gave him.
8-Summer Movie: Scratched out of the BC; he's a decent sort, but hung out there with the wide post.
6-Lucky Rave: Is another decent animal, and I was a bit disappointed with his US debut. I hope his connections will consider a down the hill sprint race at Santa Anita because he'll really fit there.

Race Six
2-Youthful Ambition: I have waited for his return; trainer change and gelded since last start; all systems go.
1-Afleet Magic: Figures in mix somewhere, I suppose.
10-Broadway Promise: His chances would go up if he could clear from out there.
4-Magic Dust: Seems possible for Bruce H. first time out; he spent much cash for this one, so the astute trainer must have seen something he liked.
5-Country Tough: Closed mildly in weak race and needs more speed.

Race Seven
1-Woman Warrior: Took to grass just fine, should get good trip as long as Alex stays inside!
4-Miss Silver Brook: Is a decent closer and there is much speed in here, maybe.
3-Dotsy jean: Does like this course though I wasn't too impressed with her last two.
6-Unzip me: Another who rolls late, and she did steady in her last; not the smoothest action, but rates a look, I suppose.
7-Pink Diamond: Does like grass though she's really stranded out in post 7.
2-Tamar: Is the best speed and that's always dangerous; tries grass and Mitchell has made few wrong moves this meet.

Race Eight
4-Ventura: Champion mare lost none of her brilliance in my eyes by losing BC to Informed Decision on a track/pace scenario that gave her no shot; no one else to talk about here. One of Bobby's greatest runners and that's saying something – she'll go out winning.

Race Nine
8-Aromatherapy: Finds herself in a pace-less field; hopefully she gets inside fast and rides the magic Hollywood rail for Aggie D.
2-Cherryblossommiss: Can stay closer from her inside post; she might be coming up to a good effort.
6-Lexlenos: Ultra-ploddy runner gets blinks; not sure how much they'll really help.
5-Lullabytime: gets big numbers because she drifts out; seldom passes anyone, not for me.

Race Ten
Pass.

Dana, Nice call on Marcello. Hopefully you got a piece. Great show and place prices.
Great exacta in the 6th as well.
Continued good luck.
