Title: Most Impressive
Post by: JimP on November 08, 2009, 10:06:51 AM
I nominate the following as the most impressive performances of this BC:
1. Lookin at Lucky - Overcame the post and ran a big race to just miss. Will be intersting to watch his development.
2. Biofuel - Overcame the post and trouble in the lane to hit the board. Will be interesting to watch her development.
3. Goldikova - Bad post, not the best of trips, fantastic close, to beat the boys for the second year in a row.
4. Zenyata - Wow! What a stretch run! Winner of 2 different BC races. Not many of those.

I nominate Trevor Denman.

Incredible peformance by Zenyatta, but we all know that never happens on real dirt. Last time we saw something like that Forego was running down Honest Pleasure 34 years ago.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

No Joe, we don\'t.

Do us all a favor and just stop with your ridiculous nonsense.  You call Furthest Land, \" a piece of garbage\", because you lost a bet.

Now you proclaim that Zenyatta can\'t close and defeat horses on dirt.

I\'ll just say this..

I
Don\'t

Unless they are just plain ridiculous.

Saying Zenyatta can\'t close on dirt is ridiculous. There are a lot of people around here that need to get off their anti-synthetic hysteria and give this horse her due. She is an all time great, and we are all fortunate to have seen her run.

P-Dub:

I didn\'t say she couldn\'t close on dirt. I said you don\'t see that kind of close on a real dirt track. I didn\'t say she wasn\'t a great horse I said (in my opinion) that she won\'t beat those horses on a regular dirt track with that kind of running style.

Synthetic tracks neutralize certain running styles and narrow gaps in talent. If you don\'t think so, then explain \"Furthest Land\"  and \" Dancing in Silks.\" Then when you finish with that, try and explain how Tiago beat Curlin last year.

Really

there are people out there who dream of being all kinds of things, P-Dub.

Doctors, lawyers, pro athletes. I dream of being your bookmaker.

Good Luck,

You know what\'s missing on this thread?  A mention of the really great groundsaving ride by Mike Smith aboard Z.  I don\'t know about \"most impressive,\" but I was...impressed!  Have to get this one in for P-Dub, he deserves it!
