Title: Lookin At Lucky
Post by: Silver Charm on October 30, 2009, 07:18:27 AM
Interesting play or read here. Will take a lot of money because of Baffert (justifiably) and he is local.

His pattern is what it is but I think it could be much better. The Del Mar race was an absolute schooling or mild drive at best and the last he seemed to be geared down pretty good once he got good and clear.

So could he have run faster in both of those? I absolutely think he could but how much we will never know and the numbers say he needs to to win.......

Probably depends on how you view his last race; looked like he was going to draw away at the top of the stretch, then he either waited on horses or perhaps the jock didn\'t ask him for everything he had. I tend to think he has much more to offer, too. I always liked him; very professional for a two year old.

Samrt Strike on top. Half to Kensei on the bottom. Probably as well bred of a Mike Pegram owned runner as he has had.

I think the Trainer knows what to do with these types..........

Looking at the fractions and stretch run, I do not believe LAL could have run faster last.

Midshipman had a similar prep last year, then won the Juvy with a pair. I thought he offered pretty good value at 7-2, but he was 2 points faster than LAL.

Lucky\'s currently 9/5 over at Wynn. I\'m gonna have to pass.
