Does anybody here know Larry Jones? This is the strangest retirement I\'ve ever seen i.e. - he is not really retiring. Or maybe just for a second like Keith Jackson who un-retired right after his farewell tour. Maybe he should just tell all the media who keeps interviewing him about his retirement that he changed his mind, because they are a little slow in realizing this.

The Jones\' were treated very unfairly and cruelly by both the general public and, sadly, by alot of the racing world when Eight Bells died.
They love the horses and just want to be involved in them.
Yeah I like Larry Jones. Don\'t know him but great trainer. It just cracks me up how all these media publications are so eager to write these last months of Larry Jones as a trainer articles when it is obvious he is not really retiring. When you read these articles it talks abut how is stills wants to train Freisan Fire and thought he was training Kodiak Cowboy, and how his wife will be the listed trainer but he is still doing the work. I think he just boxed himself into a corner with his public announcement and he now feels compelled to do some kind of symbolic retirement now even though he is obviously keeping at it. I think now that he\'s made a lot of money he is just retiring from some of his pain in the ass owners as opposed to retiring from the game. He will be back in the classics very soon I think...
Larry Jones a very tough read as a trainer for me.Genius or Detective Clouseau with a bunch of runners, could never quite figure him out.

From drf.com:
\"I won\'t be doing anything, as far as the everyday at the barn,\" he said. \"I\'ll come out for the races. And I might gallop a horse or two for Cindy or maybe haul a horse for her if she needs me to.\"
Doesn\'t sound like a guy that is going to be doing the work. From my run-ins with him in his early years at Delaware Park, his word is good. There aren\'t many left cut from the same cloth as Larry Jones.
