Well that wasn\'t one of Desormeaux best rides. Should have finished 3rd at worst.

As they turn for home and straighten out, he atttempted to move between the 8 and 9 horse.  The 9 comes in a bit and shuts him off. From there he doesn\'t have a lot of options.

Just curious but what should he have done with the ride?

right   the 1 as a 2 year old filly had nothing to do with it.  wasn\'t on surface yet.  unreal bet against.

He should have stayed on the rail on the back stretch that\'s the route the winner took.

Well, its always easy to figure out the right trip after the race.

If he stays on the rail and gets blocked, then thats a bad ride too.  If he doesn\'t have the other horse take his path, you aren\'t complaining.

Some of you remind me of guys sitting on their couch, beer in hand, wondering why a guy would swing at a 90mph sinker that drops to his ankles.

There\'s a reason guys are playing in the MLB playoffs and there\'s a reason men and women are selected to sit on top of million dollar horses. They are the best in their respective fields and they have to make split second decisions. The rest of you make these decisions with the benefit of hindsight.
