In the 8th at Keeneland on Friday D wayne is running Hamazing Destiny who would have probably compiled a really good record by now if he was with his original trainer. D wayne takes this horse and tries to rush him into the Derby by running him in the Rebel after his maiden win then runs him right back in a race 13 days later probablt to get him conditioning to run him in one of the drby preps two weeks later so he could try to make enough graded earnings to get him back in the derby. That horse of course hurts himself and Lukas is forced to give him a break after. Now he is forcing this horse into the Phoenix to get him into the Breeders cup even though this horse seems to not want anything to do with poly and is still eligible for a NW1X.
I can\'t wait for this guy to be out of the game. I know some of you will say the owner might want that but Lukas has done this so many times it just seems like he whispers in the owner\'s ears enough to make them say why not. I\'ll eat crow if he wins but i\'m more worried for this horse as he looks like he could have been a really good one with a more patient trainer.
DWL\'s MO is that he usually is able to attract owners who don\'t interfere (usually because they don\'t know much). That way, he can do what he does without any outside interference.
There was once a DWL trained horse who was regally bred and expensive and this horse had a stretch of 13 races that were contested at 13 different tracks with 13 different riders. That\'s correct, this horse ran 13 times in a row at all different distances, never had the same jock twice in a row and didn\'t race more than once at the same track in this span.
DWL was actually the trainer who really made it fashionable for owners to give their horses to politicians instead of actual horse trainers. DWL has had great success over the years because of the amazing asst trainers he\'s had.
Tweeter in the 7th is another. When the Oaks analysis came out I remember she had a nice pattern going into that race and now it\'s long gone....
