Title: SA R8 - The Norfolk
Post by: Michael D. on October 04, 2009, 03:59:06 PM
Dave in Dixie could be a nice one. \'9\' first out is a solid figure, but not too fast. Ran a quick :11.83 final 1/8 last, and is bred to go long on bottom. Nice timing for the return, and Sadler has been hot.

Thanks for this Michael. After looking at this race for about an hour I took your advice and keyed DID over Pulsion(12), Gallant Man(5), and L@L(2).

I thought he ran pretty well considering he had a slow start and was last the majority of the race and had to ziz-zag down the lane. I think he ended up around 5th. There was DH for 4th.

I think it ended up 2-12-5-11/9

No luck today but it was fun.

He was 10 back after 6f. They ran the final 5/16 in 31 1/2, and the final 1/16 in 6 1/2. I would have preferred he was closer, but given the nice inside trip and closing fractions, Dave should have been able to make it closer. In hindsight, Dixie Union is not a great synth sire, and predicting a big jump 2nd out was a bit too much risk for the reward. Still, not a bad looking colt.
