Title: (Probably Not) Almost Heaven
Post by: richiebee on September 18, 2009, 03:59:18 AM
Business will take me to Pittsburgh and Wheeling, W. Va. over the next few
days. Will be leaving Ms. Richiebee, the golf clubs and the suntan lotion at
home. Anybody ever been to the \"Dogcino\" on Wheeling Island?

You\'ll be close enough to hit another dog track.  Mountaineer.

Yes. Race-book is on bottom floor toward the rear of the casino. You can drive and park near the race book entrance. Just keep to the right.  So so set up, with plenty TV\'s at desk.  One could be yours if you get their early.  A better race-book is located at the Meadows near Washington Pa.  It too is downstairs.  I think it is the best in the Pittsburgh metro area. Only drawback at both is check tracks they handle.

Heatherk:

Thanks for the heads up on the Meadows. A modern, ultra clean facility, very
accessible from I-79. Casino, food courts, race book, bowling facility, lots of
parking and of course live harness racing.

It seemed like almost every thoroughbred track in US and Canada was being
simulcast.

Did not explore or wager as much as I would have liked to, was having too much
fun watching the Jets befuddle Belichick and Brady.
