Title: Philly Park Sat 9/19
Post by: SilkySullivan on September 16, 2009, 07:25:41 AM
For those willing to do some slumming, Philly has Owner Appreciation Day with big purses, 5 stakes over $100k and full fields. Have to be some pearls in the muck.

I will be part of the slumming group at Philly Park on Sat.

I own a piece of one that is running in the President\'s Cup, RJ\'s Brigade.

This is a total homer pick and we need to see all of the figs before we know for sure so proceed at your own caution but we should be a bit of a price on the class step up and I think we are very live.

The horse is doing well, he has very good back turf numbers to run back to, he\'s getting 9 lbs and he will save ground all the way around the track given the post and his tactical speed.

Good luck

Same merry band of thieves, but with higher purses. Intriguing.

I don\'t think I have ever seen a MdSpWts race with a 84K purse!

Absolutely zero speed signed on...should be able to control things from the rail.  Molina sure knows the horse and very nice back turf #\'s indeed!

TGJB or TGAB,  how about an ANALYSIS for this classic day of racing for your fans in Philly.

No different than the WWE holding it\'s Wrestle-mania.

Good Luck,

SS:

I can not answer for JB or AB, but I have a feeling that JB is convinced that
Delaware Park and Philly Park are no different than NY\'s Bryant Park and
Washington Square Park in the 1970s.

JB and RB,  LOL.  With a clear mind (recently back from rehab), I will venture to Philly Park for the first time in my 10 yrs in the area. (I am a friendly confines of the SPA guy).  I hope the aroma of illicit substances in the air does not invade my body and send me back to rehab, or to Washington Square for that matter. Will report back Monday.

Guess what? I\'m going to play that Philly card too, knowing full well what I am stepping into. Needless to say, I won\'t be wearing my Sunday shoes.

I have no problem with shady racing, as long as I am in on the score.

Hey Covelj, I see your trainer has Intaglio, who we had in the Tagg barn.  I think he can easily make the step up but will have to box in the exacta with Tony Dutrow\'s big class dropper.  Any thoughts on that race?

Alright I did Philly Park analysis for this Saturday 9/19. It\'ll be up shortly. It\'s competitive. Lots of horses. Good luck.

Check out the Sheets for the Smarty Jones Classic. There is a horse in there who switched barns over the new year (just compare the 2008 and the 2009 (note the square box on the first race of this year)). This horse became a super horse after the switch -- anybody know this trainer?  Is he another one to put in the move up crew?  What do people think of this horse\'s chances going two turns?  The sibs did not seem to like two turns very much.
